What is an annual general meeting?
All member organizations are invited to gather to choose the new board of IHHF, decide the joining and membership fee together and acknowledge the freedom of responsibility to the previous board and chair. As the name says, this procedure takes place every year, around the same time. In this letter we are inviting everyone interested to apply to the board of International Hobbyhorse Federation.
This time, the annual general meeting will take place on Zoom.
When we have the date set, you will receive an invitation, agenda and a Zoom link to the annual general meeting. The annual general meeting should take place by the end of July.

International Hobbyhorse Federation relies on volunteers. Board members and the chair are all doing this out of their interest and want to create and better the international standard in hobbyhorsing, everyone in their own way yet sharing the same goals and values together.
Because of this, the board members and the chair are elected annually. The new board may or may not involve the same people as in the previous season. However, we welcome individuals to apply to the board of International Hobbyhorse Federation. This means that you have a chance to take part in international matters as a board member or as the chair of International Hobbyhorse Federation. The board members and the chair are chosen by voting in the annual general meeting.

What you should know before applying
- Main language within the board is English. Good English skills, both spoken and written, are mandatory.
- The candidates must be 18 years old or older.
- The chair must have a Finnish home address or seek exemption from this requirement.
- As this work is completely volunteer work, we do not demand anyone to do more than what they are able to provide but expect everyone to partake and make sure that all responsibilities follow through.
- Candidates do not need to be a part of any member organisation’s board.
- International Hobbyhorse Federation is registered in Finland and follows the Finnish law.
How to apply?
Fill in the form with the requested information and introduce yourself with your own words. Remember to include what you wish to accomplish as a board member or as the chair and what previous experience you have with working internationally and in any other organization. Everything regarding your time with hobbyhorses is great information to give.
You can apply as a board member and / or as the chair. The board and the chair will choose the vice chair, treasurer and a secretary amongst themselves after the general meeting.
Voting as a member organization
Every member organization has one vote in each topic. The member organization must choose one spokesperson for the meeting. The spokesperson will vote for the organization that they represent. Everyone else from the member organization’s administration can join the meeting to listen. The spokesperson must be chosen by the member organization before the meeting starts and will be presented to the chair of the annual meeting.
